Experience
I studied at St. George's University School of Veterinary Medicine. I have had experience tutoring students in groups, as well as tutoring on an individual basis. I found so much satisfaction when tutoring students that I was actually motivated to keep teaching. I continued tutoring my fellow students as I earned my bachelor of science degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Rhode Island. Following that, I conducted research on zoonotic parasites through the Department of Infectious Disease at Tufts University. I'm currently pursuing my teaching certificate in my two favorite subjects, Biology and Physiology. I'm available to tutor students in a variety of science classes, including AP classes that have to do with science, like chemistry and biology. I can also help prepare students for the science sections of standardized exams, including the SAT subject test in biology. My goal when tutoring students is to assist them as they work to make sense out of material that is complex and sometimes confusing. I know that every single student has the potential to succeed in any subject. If a subject is difficult, working with a tutor in a trusting, one-on-one setting can help, because the tutor will use the student's strengths to present them with the information that will best help that student learn.
